They break the rules, reinvent themselves with every album and are considered to be Gothenburg's brightest metal pearl - since the early 90’s, IN FLAMES have delivered a spectacular band progression which has seen them transform their sound from classic Melodic Death Metal to their current modern and unique style. The Swedes never cease to challenge their artistic boundaries, never looking back and taking every possible risk.
While their early work was dominated by growling vocals and intense speed, IN FLAMES soon developed a progressive approach to their music, adding clean vocals to the choruses and creating unforgettable hymns such as ‘The Quiet Place’ or ‘Trigger’. And since the band is never standing still, it was time for them to build a monument in honor of their current sound – the result is the exquisite »Sounds From The Heart Of Gothenburg« DVD, before the band move on to other shores with their next full length record, which is due this autumn. The explosive live performance was filmed in November 2014, in front of a sold-out venue of 10,000 fans, right inside the Scandinavium – in the heart of their hometown Gothenburg, Sweden. The decision to preserve this home town show for all eternity on DVD was an easy one for the band.
Once again, IN FLAMES chose none other than Patric Ullaeus as director, who has been the creative force behind multiple music videos for the band, including their double- DVD »Used And Abused – In Live We Trust« and the clip for ‘Take This Life’ – which has now been watched over 15 million times on Youtube! After such a long and successful shared history, the band didn’t hesitate long in making a decision:
“Patric knows us, he has a great vision and we completely trust his way of shooting. He doesn’t bother us on stage, he knows when we need our privacy, but also when to invade our privacy.”

HAMMERFALL DVD + the Artwork.

On the occasion of their well-deserved time-out in 2012/13, after which the quintet will return stronger than ever, a testimonial of HAMMERFALL’s on-stage power in a DVD+2CD format will be released on November 30th. For this, the extraordinary 135 minutes long 15-year anniversary show that took place on the 28th of July on the historic open-air stage Dalhalla, built in an old quarry near the small Swedish village Rättvik, was captured on camera.
Oscar Dronjak comments: "The set contained 26 tracks and lasted 2 hours and 15 minutes, by far the longest and most comprehensive gig of our entire career! We played songs from every album and then some, there were lots of guests and pyros, and we had 80 Marshall cabinets and the big shield with the HF logo carved out in the middle hanging brought out of storage, all set in an extremely unique venue. You really have to see it to understand, this concert really captured the essence of HammerFall live in 2012 very well!"
Prominent guests included original HAMMERFALL line-up members Jesper Strömblad and Mikael Stanne, as well as ex-guitarist Stefan Elmgren, among others, which made the show unforgettable - also for the musicians themselves.
